Get More From Your Health Plan: A Guide to Your Full Benefits

Your Blue Cross and Blue Shield Federal Employee Program (FEP) plan is more than just health coverage—it's a full package of benefits, resources, and savings designed to help you stay healthy, spend smarter, and give you the power to take control of your own health.
Many members don't realize how much value their plan includes, from free preventive care to wellness rewards and telehealth access. This guide will help you maximize what you already have in three key ways: staying on top of preventive care, using your benefits year-round, and taking advantage of wellness rewards and savings.
1. Stay on Top of Preventive Care
Prevention is not only free, but also the foundation of getting the most from your plan.
Use your $0 preventive care benefits: Schedule your annual checkup where your doctor can get to know you and your medical history, test your blood pressure, and perform a health exam. From there, they can provide next steps tailored to your needs, such as suggesting a screening or directing you to a specialist.
Get your vaccinations and suggested screenings: Doctors recommend staying up to date on vaccinations and screenings. FEP plans generally cover a wide range of these services as preventive care at no cost to you when you use in-network providers. Coverage can include services like annual physicals, immunizations such as flu shots, breast cancer screenings, colorectal screenings, and other recommended wellness visits.
Check your coverage tools: Log in to your MyBlue account or the FEPBlue app to confirm which preventive services are covered. With our network of over 2 million providers, finding a doctor is easy. Our National Doctor and Hospital Finder tool will help you find nearby, in-network providers that are ready to support you and your health needs.
2. Use Your Plan Year-Round
Think of your plan as a daily health partner, not just for doctor visits or emergencies.
Convenient care: Access $0 telehealth visits through Teladoc Health® anytime for minor illnesses, dermatology services, mental health support, or routine care—perfect for nights, weekends, or travel. Call the 24/7 Nurse Line at 1-888-258-3432 anytime for trusted guidance.
Digital tools: Use your MyBlue account or the FEPBlue app to manage care, check claims, and track spending. You can also track rewards, access savings offers, and manage wellness goals directly through your online account or app.
Get support through care management programs: If you're managing a chronic condition like diabetes, hypertension, or asthma, connect with a care manager for personalized support. These programs can improve outcomes and reduce costs.
3. Take Advantage of Wellness Rewards and Savings
Your plan includes financial and motivational incentives that reward you for healthy behaviors.
Earn rewards for healthy actions: If you have FEP Blue Basic or FEP Blue Standard, complete your Blue Health Assessment (BHA) and earn $50. You can also complete Daily Habits to earn up to $120 in wellness incentives. Rewards will be loaded onto your MyBlue Wellness Card and can be used toward eligible expenses like gym memberships, eyeglasses, and medications.
Another simple way to get rewarded for staying on top of your health is with the Routine Annual Physical Incentive Program. FEP Blue Focus members can earn a $150 MyBlue® Wellness Card just for getting their annual checkup.
Explore exclusive discounts through Blue365®: Save on fitness gear, nutrition services, fresh meal kits, travel, and more.
